About Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026

JEE Main 2026 is conducted twice a year (Session 1 in January-February and Session 2 in April) by the National Testing Agency for admission to B.E./B.Tech in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced (for IIT admission). JEE Main is India's biggest engineering entrance exam with over 12 lakh candidates appearing every year. The best of two session scores is considered for the NIT/IIIT merit list.

JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) consists of 90 questions (75 to be attempted): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (30Q each — 20 MCQ + 10 numerical). Duration: 3 hours. Maximum marks: 300.
